Over 50 museum professionals from across France and North America gathered at the Denver Art Museum in Colorado for FRAME’s Annual Conference, which took place from Wednesday, October 29 to November 1, 2025. During the conference’s general assembly, FRAME members voted to induct two new North American museums: the Detroit Institute of the Arts and the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa.
William Beekman and Christelle Creff, Co-Presidents of FRAME, saluted these nominations, stating: “We are delighted to welcome Detroit back into the FRAME network and expand our presence in Canada with the addition of the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa. These museums’ impressive collections and alignment with FRAME’s mission will help strengthen our presence in North America and open up exciting opportunities for collaboration across the FRAME network.”
FRAME’s Annual Conference offers an opportunity for museum directors and professionals from across France and North America to come together to share experiences and best practices and identify opportunities for collaboration. This year’s conference focused on the subject “Broadening access to culture and opening museums to new audiences”, featuring keynote addresses by Kate D. Levin, Principal, Bloomberg Associates in Cultural Assets Management, and leader of Bloomberg Philanthropies Arts Program, and Jeanne Brun, Deputy Director and Director of Collections at the Musée national d’art moderne – Centre Georges Pompidou.
Participants also had the opportunity to explore highlights of Denver’s vibrant artistic and cultural landscape, including private tours of The Cookie Factory with Founder and Executive Director Amanda J. Precourt, Co-Founder and Director of Exhibitions Andrew Jensdotter, and Artistic Director Jérôme Sans; the Clyfford Still Museum with Director Joyce Tsai; and Cherokee Ranch & Castle with Executive Director James A. Holmes; as well as a guided visit of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver with Ellen Bruss Senior Curator Miranda Lash.
FRAME would like to acknowledge the invaluable support of Christoph Heinrich, Frederick and Jan Mayer Director of the Denver Art Museum, and his team, as well as Joy Dinsdale, Trustee of the Denver Art Museum, who are both Board members of FRAME, for their generous support and warm welcome in organizing this year’s event.
The next FRAME Annual Conference will take place in Lyon in Fall 2026. Participation in this and other FRAME events is by invitation only to members of the FRAME network.
