Anaël Pigeat is an art critic and journalist who graduated from the Courtauld Institute. She served as editor-in-chief of Art Press from 2011 to 2018, before joining The Art Newspaper France as editor-at-large. She also contributes to the culture section of Paris Match and occasionally appears as a commentator on Radio France.
Since 2020, she has created, produced, and hosted the podcast Phonomaton. She is the author of several books, including Cinéma Martial Raysse (Les Presses du Réel), L’Art en mouvement (La Martinière), and Effervescence de la peinture dans l’art contemporain (Flammarion).
Anaël Pigeat has also curated several exhibitions, such as “Entre tes yeux et les images que j’y vois” at the Pernod Ricard Foundation in 2022, and “Studio Conversations” at David Zwirner Paris in 2025.
