Initiated by the Portland Museum of Art and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Tours, this exhibition has taken advantage of the rich FRAME collections to focus on a relatively brief period from about 1745 to 1765, a span of twenty years in the middle of the century corresponding almost exactly to the reign of Madame de Pompadour.
