We extend our warmest congratulations to Sylvain Amic on his recent appointment as President of the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay and the Mus\u00e9e de l\u2019Orangerie, Paris, effective April 24, 2024. Along with this appointment we are proud to announce that the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay and the Mus\u00e9e de l\u2019Orangerie are now members of the FRAME network.<\/p>\n

Many will remember Sylvain from his work with FRAME prior to his departure from the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux-Arts de Rouen. \u201cWe are delighted the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay and Mus\u00e9e de L\u2019Orangerie have agreed to join our network, and especially pleased that their new president knows FRAME well and has served as a Director on our Board,\u201d said William (Bill) Beekman, Co-President of FRAME in North America. \u201cSylvain is a loyal friend and fellow of FRAME, and his thoughts are essential to the future of museums and their place in our global society. \u00a0A cherished partner of both French and American museums, Orsay is a recognized leader on the contemporary issues that impact the entire museum sphere.\u00a0 Additionally, I\u2019d like to thank Christophe Leribault, who initiated this membership which marks an important chapter in FRAME\u2019s history. Christophe is now the President of Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles.\u201d\u00a0 said Christelle Creff<\/em>, Co-President, FRAME France and\u00a0Cheffe du service des mus\u00e9es de France.<\/p>\n

For Sylvain Amic, \u201c…it is a great pleasure to be back in the FRAME network, with which I have been cooperating since its creation twenty-five years ago. At the time, I was curator at the Mus\u00e9e Fabre in Montpellier. I would like to thank my predecessor, Christophe Leribault, for having taken the initiative of joining FRAME. It is a great opportunity for the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay and the Mus\u00e9e de l’Orangerie to strengthen their programmatic relationships and share best practices with big French museums outside Paris and important North American museum institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

This recent addition to our network follows the recommendations outlined in the FRAME strategic plan, which was unanimously adopted at the October 2023 annual conference. FRAME will continue to deepen and reinvigorate the network by increasing its membership over the next five years.<\/p>\n
